On June 25th the Interreg NSR ART-Forum project organises a first webinar on the potential of automated road transport. There are very high expectations related to automated and autonomous transport. What is realistic for what kind of transport in the next ten to fifteen years? And what is a ‘hidden potential’ for the years directly ahead of us? The presentation of Michael Glotz-Richter from the city of Bremen will show the viewpoint of a city and may give some (provocative) answers.
When can we expect the first fully autonomous cars and busses to drive in our cities? And how can regions and cities meanwhile cope with the ongoing automation of vehicles and prepare for the future to come? Suzanne Hoadley of Polis will guide us through the main results of the just finished Horizon 2020 project ‘CoEXist’, which aims at preparing the transition phase during which automated and conventional vehicles will co-exist on cities’ roads.
Besides the views of the cities we also shed light on the citizens’ perspective. Can they imagine a future with self-driving vehicles? Johannes Rodenbach from Autodelen.net will show the most interesting results from a representative study on the acceptance of automated transport in the Flanders region of Belgium.
